An outbreak of Aujeszky's disease has been detected in a pig farm in Tarn-et-Garonne. This viral disease can affect pigs and wild boars, and accidentally carnivores.

It is mainly transmitted directly during close contact between infected animals, as well as indirectly, via contaminated equipment. The prefecture stressed that the disease “is not transmissible to humans” and that “the consumption of pork presents no risk to human’s”
