France stops leasing electric cars for less than 150 euros per month. More than 50,000 applications were approved within a few weeks.

The program was stopped for the time being. However, it will be reissued on a larger scale in 2025. Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular in France. In 2023, 298,219 battery-electric cars (BEVs) were newly registered there. This corresponds to an increase of 47 percent compared to the previous year. The market share of BEVs was 16.8 percent.
