Activists vow to appeal to Pakistan's Supreme Court after legal protections for transgender people were challenged. The Federal Sharia Court overturned several measures of a 2018 law that granted historic rights to the transgender community.

The definition of a transgender person enshrined in the law, as well as their right to obtain public documents, have been annulled.
