Paolo Pininfarina was the grandson of Battista Pinin Farina who founded the Turin body shop in the early 1930s. He was the son of Sergio, who elegantly dressed the most beautiful Peugeot and Ferrari.

He died on Tuesday April 9 following a long illness, surrounded by his family. His name remains forever inseparable from the history of the transalpine automobile. The presidency will have been marked by the end of the collaboration of the Pin infarina bodywork with its historical partners: Ferrari and Peuget. In 2013, to pay tribute to his deceased father, he supervised the design of the Sergio boat powered by a Ferrari engine. More recently, he unveiled an electric hypercar bearing the name of his grandfather Battista. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son-in-law. He leaves behind a wife and three children. He also leaves a son and two step-children. He will be remembered for his work in furniture, architecture, nautical and aeronautical design.
