Police were called by residents around 5:15 a.m. for a brawl involving several people.
When they arrived, the officials learned from witnesses that two men had beaten a third with sticks. The victim, about whom very little is currently known, is said to have fallen into the canal. The suspects, aged 26 and 28, also fell into the water. They were taken to the Lariboisière hospital in Paris (Xe) before being placed in police custody for intentional homicide.
