A migrant was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention on Tuesday. He is suspected of having killed during a brawl another migrant found drowned on Sunday in a canal in Paris.
The suspect, who presents himself as being of Malian nationality, “recognized the facts and the intention of homicide” during his custody at the 2nd district of the judicial police (2nd DPJ), according to a source close to the investigation. Another migrant, born in Senegal and of French nationality, was also arrested on site before being released without prosecution at this stage.
