Versailles will host two sports: horse riding and modern pentathlon. The Olympic marathon and the two road races (men and women) will also pass through the city.
The equestrian events will begin the day after the opening ceremony on Saturday July 27 and will end on Tuesday August 6. The organization of the Olympic Games has decided to change the format of the modern Pentathlon for these Olympic Games in Paris. The pentathlon will be condensed into 90 minutes: 35 minutes of riding (show jumping), followed by 5 minutes of break 20 minutes of fencing.
