Payments abroad are not possible. The card does not have an account connection and does not also have a debit function. Theoretically, due to the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act, it is possible for refugees to receive benefits for up to 36 months. They would be restricted by the card throughout this period - unless they are recognized.
