Payment card for asylum seekers in Bavaria: These four regions are starting the pilot phase in advance. The payment card will be used across the Free State as early as summer.
The main purpose of the payment card is to prevent refugees from sending money to relatives in their home countries. Withdrawals from payment cards are limited to the legal minimum, transfers are not possible and the card can only be used in the refugees' approved residence area. In Traunstein, Straubing and Fürstenfeldbruck, the pilot project will start in March.
