Payment card for refugees: Fürstenfeldbruck becomes a model district. Four model municipalities are scheduled to try out the planned payment card as early as March.
The payment cards are intended, among other things, to deprive asylum seekers of the opportunity to transfer money from state support in Germany to relatives and friends in their country of origin. In some municipalities, payment cards have already been introduced for refugees in pilot tests, with which they receive state benefits as credit, but no longer as cash.
