Peru declares a health emergency in 20 regions after 32 deaths from dengue. The epidemic registers more than 31,000 cases and authorities are investigating whether another eight deaths are related to the disease.

Three weeks later, the Government has reversed course and accepted the crisis, declaring a state of emergency for 90 days. Three of the four known serotypes currently circulate in Peru: DEN-1, DEN-2 and DENV-3. As known, the most common symptoms are high fever, pain, rash, dehydration and headaches.
