The Cuba agreement, with full force from August, is the first great achievement of total peace, the flagship policy of the president of Colombia. The agreed cessation has progressive phases.
The enlistment stage is immediate, then the end of offensive operations begins on July 6 until reaching a full validity, of 180 days, from August 3. Monitoring and verification mechanisms will be installed in the coming days and weeks, so that the truce with the last guerrilla in arms should be underway throughout Colombian territory for the remainder of 2023.
