Several archipelagos of French Polynesia placed on cyclone pre-alert. Average winds of 80 to 90 km/h are expected, with gusts of 120 to 130km/h.

The last passage of a cyclone in Polynesia dates back to 2010, when Oli mainly hit the Austral archipelago. Schools in the Leeward Islands and the Windward Islands will be closed on Wednesday, authorities say. Heavy rainfall is expected again, as well as swells of around 4.5 to 5 meters.
