Pope Francis received Jorge Macri and insisted on his intention to visit Argentina. There was an exchange of gifts and talks about the City's plans to contain those affected by the economic crisis.

Macri gave Francisco letters that residents of the City of Buenos Aires wrote to him and gave him records with music by Alberto Ginastera and Astor Piazzolla. The Pope was struck by where the CDs had been purchased, Casa Piscitelli, in downtown Buenos Aires. The meeting was broadcast by the Buenos Aires Government along with a photo of both.
