Long-term consequential damage from Covid could promote the premature onset of dementia. However, it is still unclear how long Covid damage lasts. In the worst case, this means that the brain damage in patients already susceptible to the disease could promote early onset of Alzheimer's. Researchers have also found a connection between surviving Covid illnesses and surviving a Covid-19 infection.
