President Macky Sall left the date of the presidential election pending on Thursday, while ensuring that he would leave his post as planned on April 2, whether his successor is known or not. Two leaders of the Senegalese citizens' collective Aar Sunu Election maintained on Friday that the election should take place before April 2.

They indicated that the collective still planned to demonstrate on Saturday. Another collective, of 16 presidential candidates, told AFP that it would speak around 11:00 a.m. (local and GMT)
