The Martinschule in Olching is to be converted to create more space for open all-day care. Mayor Andreas Magg (SPD) asked the building authority to examine a new idea.

A three-story extension is planned with a so-called attic floor between the gymnasium and the adjacent school building. The usable area should be around 2000 square meters and as little of the playground as possible should be lost. An outbuilding with an equipment garage and bicycle parking facility will be demolished. The city of Olching wants to make this possible at all primary schools. This has already happened in Graßlfing, now Olching will follow, then Esting. A budget of 20 million euros is planned for the renovation and expansion of the Martinschule alone. The calculation is currently at 13 million euros, but the next steps will show whether this is realistic. This saves you the trouble of having to make complex temporary arrangements or expensive container systems, says Mayor Magg.
