Sanctions from the USA are once again targeting Putin's henchmen. Companies from China are affected - one of which apparently supports Russia's military.

The US has already warned of ‘serious consequences’ for Russia. The sanctions could put Putin in trouble, especially in the financial sector. The U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called on Chinese companies in particular not to provide material support for Russia's war against Ukraine. The Chinese “understand how serious the issue is for us,” Yellen said. Several Chinese central banks have stopped their payment transactions with Russia and do not want to accept yuan from Russia. This is a major setback for Putin's economy as Russia has become increasingly dependent on China for its economy. The USA has added four other companies from China to the sanctions list. They tried to acquire AI chips for the Chinese military, a US official said on Wednesday (April 10). The companies are "involved in providing AI Chips for China's military modernization programs" and for military intelligence users.
