Quartettissimo: Great evening with “Meta4” from Finland in the Tölzer Kurhaus. “ Meta4’, founded in 2001, is one of the internationally most successful string quartets.
In 2004 it won first prize at the International Shostakovich Quartet Competition in Moscow. The Russian composer suffered greatly under his fatherland's communist regime, which is reflected in his work. The quartet, created in 1958, was not intended for publication, rather, he wrote it for himself.
