A total of about ten parents gathered in front of the school in Pioltello to protest against the school board's decision to suspend lessons today to celebrate Muslim end of Ramdan. The last prayer was held in the El Huda Cultural Association, the Islamic center in the heart of the Milanese municipality which ended up at the center of a heated political debate due to the decision. The president of the association, Mohamed Pietro Danova, explained to ANSA: "We chose to leave things calm until the storm ends. We cannot judge anyone, everyone has their own card and can use it as they want" He also cited the Italian Constitution: "It clearly says the same rights and same duties for all citizens, no more and no less"
