In 1995, the Ministry of Health and Social Security of the Province of Córdoba announced the presence of Aedes Aegypti, mosquito vector of the Dengue and Yellow Fever Flaviviruses. In May of the same year, said ministry reported that this species had been found in the city of Cárdoba.

A year after its detection, immature and/or adult stages of the mosquito were found in 12 neighborhoods of the capital city. All health research requires – to carry it out – special gifts: vocation, a special disinterest in figuration and a very modest salary.
