More than elsewhere, sales of three-room apartments are running out of steam on the slopes of Mont-Valérien. In Essonne, properties worth more than a million are no longer finding buyers.

In Norman Oise, second homes are popular. The proximity of the Bois de Boulogne (Paris 16th century), good public transport connections and, for the luckiest, a distant – but breathtaking – view of the Eiffel Tower is a strong point of Savigny-le-Temple. And yet. Not all towns in Hauts-de-Seine have the assets that Suresnes has. The prices of apartments have fallen by 4.6% over the last three months, compared to 1.2% on average in the department. The banks of the Seine are resisting the crisis in Seine-Saint-Denis and Val- de-Marne. And in Poissy, they live in the apartment of their dreams... as tenants.
