The traffic calming of the station forecourt in Regensburg means considerable stress for bus drivers. Now the city has reacted by opening the forecourt for bus traffic – on one lane.
The planned ground artwork, which should have been realized in front of the main station, falls victim to the opening to traffic. The city is negotiating with the artist about compensation or relocation of the artwork. With further "small targeted interventions", the station environment is to be upgraded elsewhere – in the "ideal case" this will even happen this year.
