Argentine biologists managed to rescue a sea lion that had a deep wound caused by a plastic strip. Neighbors alerted the Mundo Marino Foundation about the presence of the injured animal in the coastal town of Aguas Verdes.

The animal will stay at the foundation until it fully recovers before being released back into the wild. The plastic strip corresponded to those used in industrial packaging and had been embedded in the folds of the mammal's neck. The sea lion also had a case of anemia that was already treated by the center's specialists.
