The Tel Aviv Municipality's fight against two-wheeled criminals is paying off. In 2023, 7,126 reports were registered to cyclists, electric bicycles and scooters for not wearing a helmet at all, or wearing it in a way that does not comply with the language of the law and regulations.
The high fine amount, which is NIS 1,000, brought NIS7,126,000 into the municipality's coffers last year, but saved the state a much higher amount. The average daily number of rides in Tel Aviv stands at About 180,000.
