Road signs and lights intended for cyclists now apply to drivers of electric scooters. Faced with an increase in deaths linked to electric scooter accidents in recent years, the government unveiled a national regulation plan last year.
Since September, you must be at least 14 years old to drive an electricScooter, compared to 12 previously. The fines for riding with two people on the same machine or on prohibited routes have increased from 35 to 135 euros. The new rules were published in the Official Journal on March 23.
