Robert Habeck wants to send German astronauts to the moon. The Artemis program, which was initiated by the American space agency NASA, is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics.

People are not expected to travel around the moon with Artemis II until September 2025 at the earliest. Artemis III is scheduled to land on the moon at the end of 2026. The two German astronauts already know space. Alexander Gerst spent almost half a year in the International Space Station in 2014 and even went on a spacewalk. He returned for a second mission between June 8 and December 20, 2018.
