Unidentified people cut the cables to the “Birdgards” loudspeakers in Altdorf. The devices imitate the frightened cries of crows and are intended to prevent the birds from building more nests.
In 2023, ornithologists in Gilching counted 427 pairs of rooks. The most nests are on Friedrichshafener Straße, with 283 at last count. A total of 576 rooks were counted in 2023 compared to 298 in 2016. The breeding population has been protected since 1977.
