Cardinal Matteo Zuppi said at a union protest against workplace deaths in Bologna Thursday after Tuesday's hydro plant disaster that killed seven workers. "Safety is not a cost, it's not a luxury but a duty, an inalienable right for every person," he said.

The demonstration by CGIL and UIL, protesting against deaths at work after the disaster at Enel's Bargi power plant, took place in Piazza Maggiore in the city's centre.  "Safety requires investment," he continued, "when safety is seen as a useless cost, It means we are irresponsible"         The protest was called after Tuesday’s hydro plant Disaster in the BologNA mountains that killed 7 workers. The demonstration was called by CGil and Uil, protesting after Tuesday “Hydro plant disaster in the BOLOGna mountains killed seven workers,” the union said.
