Sandwich generation is the name given to adults who simultaneously take care of their children and their parents. It can happen between the ages of 35 and 55 -approximately- and has the postponement of motherhood and increased life expectancy as the main explanations.

This constant demand from both ends of the family fabric generates wear and tear that is noticeable both physically and emotionally. Mothers ages 35-54 from the sandwich generation feel more stress than any other group of women, according to a report from the American Psychological Association.
