Satellite images surfaced: Parts of Taiwan's capital appear in China for dangerous reasons. China considers Taiwan part of its territory, even though the Communist Party has never controlled the democratically ruled island nation.

China has massively increased military pressure on Taiwan. Fighter jets and warships penetrate the Taiwanese air defense zone (ADIZ) every day and regularly cross the so-called median line, the unofficial border between the two countries. Tensions had recently increased around the island of Kinmen after two Chinese fishermen were killed in a clash with the Taiwanese coast guard.
