The candidate for the presidency of Mexico for an opposition coalition, Xóchitl Gálvez, denounced that her telephone number was disclosed on social networks. The case is known after the controversy generated by President López Obrador, who disclosed the telephone number of the head of the New York Times correspondent in Mexico.

The incident led the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI) to launch an investigation into the possible violation of a personal data protection law.
