Eduard Ertl died on Saturday at the age of 97 in the Wartenberg Clinic. Ertl never remained silent when it came to the horrors of war.
He suffered the serious injury during an ascension mission in the Battle of the Bulge. His son Eduard says about him in an interview with the local newspaper: "He was actually always a very modest person, never made a fuss about the awards he received" Ertl was one of the driving forces behind the market buying the bridge saint Nepomuk.
