Scottie Scheffler won the 88th edition of the Augusta Masters. The 27-year-old became the fourth youngest golfer to repeat the victory in the Masters.

He is the second, after Tiger Woods, to claim champion twice while being number one in the world. The New Jersey native had a very solid performance, completing the last round with a 68 stroke, four under par. He won with a score of 277 (-11) and a four-point advantage over the Swede Ludvig Åberg, his surprise guard. The world number 1 fulfilled his role as favorite and did not fail to collect his second green jacket. He achieved it in his fifth appearance in the tournament, which he played for the first time in 2019. His second Augusta trophy allowed him to take his personal tally on the PGA Tour to eight titles. The only one who did it in fewer editions was his compatriot Horton Smith, who was the first champion in history in 1934, finished 19th in 1935 and repeated the celebration in 1936.
