Sedigheh Vasmaghi, the Iranian theologian opposed to the compulsory veil, was arrested at her home. Accused of "propaganda against the Islamic Republic", the veil has, according to her, no justification in Islam.

“She continues to refuse to wear it, even in prison. And she has already announced that she will only appear in court if she does not cover her hair,” her lawyer, Mahmoud Alizadeh Tabatabaei, confided by telephone.
