Senegal: the National Assembly adopts the law to postpone the presidential election until December 15, 2024. The law was adopted after several opposition deputies obstructing the vote were evacuated manu militari by the gendarmerie.

The presidential election, initially scheduled for February 25, will now be held on December 15. The election will take place on the same day as the general election, which will be on February 25. The vote will be followed by a referendum on whether or not to extend the presidential term.
