The Turkish opposition won a big victory across the country this Sunday, including in Istanbul and Ankara. For the second consecutive time, the opposition defeated the ruling party in the country's two largest cities.

A new national electoral perspective is now emerging for the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, who could enter the ring in four years in the next presidential elections. “Today, voters have decided to change and end the imbalance of power. The CHP has won a historic victory,” party president Özgür Özel declared at a press conference.
