Setback for Habeck: Run on oil and gas heating systems - development of the heat pump is disappointing. The goal of the traffic light coalition, according to which 500,000 heat pumps are to be installed in Germany from 2024, is unlikely to be achieved so quickly.
Gas heaters accounted for the largest share of systems sold in the first half of 2023, of which a total of 385,000 units were sold, around a third more than in 2022. While oil heating systems continue to be in high demand, demand for pellet heating systems collapsed.
