Nuclear safety authority (ASN) has been alerted to the presence of falsely qualified welders. 13 welders had falsified certificates attesting to certain specific qualifications required for these sites, ASN says.

ASN insists on "the importance, for operators, of rigorously carrying out their activities of supervision of stakeholders and technical control of the sites carried out" The only known precedent: the discovery in 2021 at the Orano reprocessing plant in La Hague (Manche), of "three unqualified welders"
