A 46-year-old man was fatally injured during a police operation in the city center of Nienburg in Lower Saxony. A policewoman who was shot was taken to a clinic in a rescue helicopter.
A police service dog was also injured. Eyewitnesses reported several shots to the newspaper “Die Harke’ The “Bild” reported that the man threatened with a knife and rioted in an apartment building. The circumstances of the operation were initially unclear.
