The Ulss 6 Euganea of Padua allows parents who wish, especially in the case of delivery by caesarean section, to make their child live skin-to-skin contact with the father. The initiative was also relaunched via social media by the President of Veneto, Luca Zaia.
The warm embrace can also come from the father, a way for both to get in tune and learn to know each other right away. Skin- to- skin contact brings numerous benefits, including the regulation of body temperature, stabilization of blood glucose levels, heart rate control, as well as promoting early breastfeeding.
