Last Friday, a Belarusian woman died after another bear attack in the same area. In 2021, a 57-year-old man was killed by a brown bear in central Slovakia, the first confirmed fatal attack by a wild bear in the country.. The bear population in Slovakia was estimated at around 1,275 individuals last year, according to Slovak researchers.
