Snow at low altitude, risk of avalanche, closed roads: snowflakes whiten eastern France. The ground has in places turned white at only 200 m or 300 m altitude.
Snowfall also affected regions in the south of France. Météo places several departments on yellow alert (level 2 out of 4) due to the risk of avalanches on the Allan massifs. On a scale of 1 to 5, it is almost maximum in several places in the Alps.
