[HIGHLIGHTS] Social networks: the Senate votes a mandatory parental agreement for children under 15

The French Senate adopted a bill requiring social networks to verify the age of their users. In case of non-compliance, a heavy fine may be imposed.

The Senate has set up a commission of inquiry, at the request of the group The Independents, on the social network TikTok. The first registration to a social network would occur on average around 8 and a half years. More than a quarter of 7-10 year olds regularly go to social networks, according to the National Commission for Informatics and Liberties (CNIL)
