Spain and Algeria postpone at the last minute the visit of Albares in which reconciliation was going to be staged. After almost two years of crisis, the Foreign Minister planned to visit Algiers this Monday to try to recover commercial relations.
The crisis between Algeria and Spain dates back to March 18, 2022, when the Algerian authorities learned from the media that, after decades of neutrality, Spain supported Moroccan sovereignty under a regime of autonomy. The Spanish declaration pacified the relationship with Morocco, but unleashed an unprecedented crisis with Algier.
