Spain maintains its levels of perception of corruption but falls one place in the world ranking. The country had been losing positions among the best-rated countries for two years.

The annual report of Transparency International criticizes that there is no authority to protect the 'whistleblowers' or informants. It censures again that the Judiciary is not renewed and that there was no central registry of its owners. In Somalia, Venezuela, Syria, South Sudan and Yemen, several of the poor use armed conflicts to partly explain its results.
