The former president wants more time to litigate his lawsuit that asks that the federal accusation be dismissed on the grounds of presidential immunity. Trump's attempt to put on hold an appeals court ruling that rejected his immunity claim does not meet the requirements for the Supreme Court to intervene, Smith said in his petition.
