Spring weather instead of snow: The first ski areas are already closing. Weather experts from uwz.at predict that up to 50 centimeters of snow could fall in the mountains.
A few centimeters of wet snow is possible in the larger Alpine valleys. Narrow, white strips of pistes on bare meadows will be part of skiing fun in Austria in the future. The snowfall limit will temporarily drop to between 600 and 1000 meters on Friday (February 23) on the Arlberg.
