Stoltenberg asks NATO allies for almost 100 billion to strengthen support for Ukraine. The Alliance seeks to extend support to kyiv when the war against Russia drags on and in the face of uncertainty over Trump's hypothetical return to the White House.

The figure, very round and enormously symbolic, seeks not only to send a message to Ukraine that it will retain the support of the Atlantic Alliance and its allies, but also to Russia. It would be a specific fund managed by NATO and would be used to provide lethal military material to Ukraine.
