Sudan: the war between the army and the paramilitaries has left “nearly 8 million” displaced, according to the UN. The war has raged since April 15, 2023 between theArmy of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane and the Rapid Support Forces (FSR, paramilitary) of General Mohammed Hamdane Daglo.

On December 21, a UN spokesperson estimated that the conflict, which had displaced 7.1 million people, was “ the largest displacement crisis in the world”
